I had to post these two pictures of Eric aka Elder Daniels. He sent these with his email yesterday. I have the iguana picture as my wallpaper on my work computer and just love it. He will have 6 months done on Thursday the 18th. Not like I am counting or anything.

A dessert to try for Thanksgiving

If you are looking for a dessert to serve on Thanksgiving here is an idea. I decided to share it because it is so good and really easy. I got it from my mom and I am not sure where she got it from.

Pumpkin Dessert

1 large can pumpkin
1 large can evaporated milk
4 eggs
1 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
1 package yellow cake mix
1 stick butter
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Mix first 7 ingredients well and pour into a greased 9x13 pan. Set aside. Mix cake butter and nuts until crumbly, sprinkle on top of pumpkin mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center. Cool and serve with fresh whip cream.

Sooo Good.

a tiny clarification

So I first want to say thank you to those who said Jack looked good in the previous post. Then I must tell you that last night when I was with Jack I was without my camera. So that picture is actually from 2005. But I must say that Jack has lost some weight in the last little while and he looks good.

11.13.2008

Tonight I am hanging out with Jack and he is hilarious.  I decided to bring him a bone.  I fed him before I showed it to him so that he wouldn't ignore his food.  When I pulled the bone out of the bag he got cocaine eyes.  He was so excited and has been fully engrossed in devouring that bone ever since.  Well of course after he carried it around to show everyone that he had a bone and it was his.  I like Jack.

Happy Halloween!

We carved pumpkins and had to post them. Andrew carved the two perfect ones and I carved the one that a 5 year old could have done. Now for a Halloween joke that my mom told me in elementary school...
-Why couldn't the Witch and the Warlock have children?
-Because he had a hollow weenie.
Yeah.

10.26.2008

lets talk music for a moment...

First of all... STARR... thank you for introducing me to Ray LaMontage. Where have I been? He is amazing. If anyone has not heard his music get on itunes and listen. Then download. He is amazing and has such a great voice.

Second... it is getting closer and closer to Christmas and that means Christmas music. Get your hands on
Sarah McLachlan's Winter Song album. I think that it was in the CD changer in my car until March this year.

Third... I am sure that everyone is aware that AC/DC came out with a new album. They don't allow itunes to carry any of their music so I tracked "Rock and Roll Train" from their new album down on the internet to listen to and it was good. I am thinking that I may need to walk over to Walmart and buy the CD.

10.24.2008

I wanted to post a picture of how excited I felt to be leaving work in 5 minutes and so I googled EXCITEMENT and clearly this would be one of the first images that pops up.
Damn uppity steed.

Get Your Bull

So did someone signed me up for Field & Stream as a joke? In the last two weeks I have received 3 issues!! And they even spell my last name right! It is pretty funny that they are coming to me and not to Andrew. This week has been insane at work. I always pay dearly for taking time off, but SANDUSKY was worth it. Lindsay I waved toward Toledo! I didn't realize how close the two cities were! I had a lot of fun with Cherie. One afternoon I left the meetings and took off to see Sandusky. I went back to the hotel for a moment and asked a girl that worked at the little bakery what there was to do in Sandusky that would be fun. Her reply with a dead serious face was -there is nothing fun to do here. Wow tough crowd, tough crowd. What do you say to that? So I decided to get a cookie and they had a sugar cookie covered in frosting, covered in sprinkles (and I LOVE sprinkles) so stupid me, I asked her if it was good and she said-- I don't like frosting! So I paid for my cookie and left. What a crabby patty. Anyways, that is it for now. I just thought that I would check in.

9.30.2008

Today I saw a car that was metallic turquoise with purple flames going down the sides. I thought that at any moment 10 clowns on uni-cycles were going to pop out and encircle my car while humming on kazoos. Please help me understand why anyone would ever pay good money for a car that was birthed at the carnival.

In other news, I get to spend next week with Cherie and her fellow Real Dealers in Tommy Boy's hometown!

Woot Woot!

9.29.2008

So I am going to be an Auntie soon...

and I want to buy everything I see! I was looking online today and came across http://www.myretrobaby.com/ and they have some really cute, fun things such as this bib/burp set that for some reason copied REALLY small.
Or these cute little patterned shoe booties.

Or of course this "I Stroll L.A." baby t-shirt. I laughed really hard at this. If you have played Mario Kart on the Wii, you may see what I am seeing... all visual.

So now we just wait to find out if Starr and Ty are having a BOY or a GIRL and then we can go baby hog wild.
I am way excited, as you can tell, for this little bean to join our family!

9.25.2008

Today I did a closing with a man who wears cowboy boots. I have met him before and have seen him around my office. On many occasions his jeans are tucked right into his boots.
Money cannot buy taste.

Bird's-eye view number 1. I spy 22 yellow taxi cabs. I need photoshop.

9.18.2008

Lindsay, your boyfriend called and he wants you to meet him in the Tiki Lounge tomorrow morning for pina coladas.

Momma's Gonna Knock You Out

Lindsay and I are taking Kickboxing lessons from
Eddie "Flash" Newman
and it is so fun! We go two days a week for one hour and it is just the two of us and him! I don't think that i have ever sweat so much or been so sore, but I love it and love taking the class with Linz.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, but I will have some great pictures (hopefully) on Monday!

The Calm Before the Storm

Today I do not believe in Global Warming. Straight Up.

8.28.2008

So it looks like I will just need to share the recipe that I find with everyone! Wish me luck in finding a good one!

8.26.2008

Call me Martha...

At the beginning of the summer I made a goal to do one domestic activity... I decided that I wanted to make JAM and I have not made it yet. So if you have a good recipe that you would be willing to share I would love to see it. Please note that I am a novice. Thanks for sharing.

Family Bonding & Moose takes one for the team

Over this past weekend we went to Heber with Andrew's extended family. We stayed at a girl's camp in the Heber mountains. It was beautiful. It was really fun to chat and eat and continue to get to know everyone better. They are a great family. I took my camera including my large lens so I could get some pretty pictures of the scenery. Andrew and I went for a hike Friday morning that ended at an overlook over the cities of Heber and Midway. On the way I pulled out my camera to start shooting and realized that in all my attempts to be prepared I had left my battery charging at home. From then on it was "well this would have been an awesome picture if we had a camera"... I was ticked, but we still had a great time. We did a challenge course that included climbing up a tree and tight rope walking on a cable at the top while holding on to another cable. As a general rule I hate ropes courses and challenge courses because of an experience in high school at one with the debate team (Savanna was there, she can vouch for how much it sucked). Well this one was a lot more fun then I expected and I was glad that I did it without swearing in front of the many innocent children.

In other news, Moose (the cat that we live with) likes to go out on the deck at night so that he can stalk everything without being seen. While he was out last night he came bustling through the door chasing one of those flying daddy long leg bugs. He eventually lost it and began to pounce every spot on our walls. So I thought it was gone and went to bed. Moose has a strict code of ethics which include: hatred of petting, hair twisty loving, and my personal favorite is not letting Summer sleep past 7:30 regardless of the day so that she does not become lazy. Well he was in rare form this morning and I assumed that he was deviating from his typical antics (to include: face slapping, meowing right out of arms reach and jumping on my night stand...). He was jumping into our blinds and tromping over both Andrew and I. Moose would not disturb Andrew in the morning for all the tea in China so I decided to get up and see what the problem was. He had his eyes glued to the flying daddy long leg bug on the wall. So I picked him up so that he could get close because I thought it would be entertaining to watch him try and bat at it. Well Moose had a different idea and as soon as he could he grabbed the bug with his paw and shoved it in his mouth. I immediately threw/dropped him and he proceeded to eat the bug. I was so grossed out that I don't think I will be able to hold him for a few days without fearing that he may get to close to my face.

I don't think I have every posted this long of a post. Won't happen again.

8.20.2008

I really like a lot of the styles that are popular this fall. It reminds me how much I love the slouchy preppy look and need to bring it back into my wardrobe. So fun.

Thinking...

I have not posted in a while because one our computer has been getting "fixed" and so I have not had a computer and two because there is not a whole lot going on. Here are a few things that are on my mind today....

Glad that Lindsay is home safe and had a great time
Excited that I got to talk to Eric and listen to him try and talk through a smile
Bugged by "computer techs" that keep our computer forever and return it unfinished (twice)
Loving the weather
Looking so forward to meeting my future niece/nephew
Excited to go camping before it gets too cold
Excited to do fantasy football for the first time.

We have to take our computer in again so that they can finish it so it may be a while before I post again.

8.07.2008

Our sweet little senior citizen of a computer finally kicked the can. I guess the lovie talk and encouragement could only help for so long. We are glad that she decided to not destroy our songs or pictures before her hard drive went up in a blaze of glory. We should be up and running tonight or tomorrow with our new tyke. Hopefully he doesn't have an attitude.

One of these days I guess I will have to get used to this following me around any store (or public place where their wheelchairs are left unattended) that Andrew and I go to together. He does mix it up with the motorized ones too.

In other news... Andrew and I went shooting yesterday with his boss and some of his friends. We went out to the west side of Utah Lake (also known as BFE) and I couldn't help but want to just run past the MTC to see Eric. The shooting of guns was fun and the blowing up of tannerite was awesome. I will post a video, but I should get back to practicing my guitar for my lessons tomorrow. Mr. teacher man may not be too happy with me...

7.10.2008

Starr and Ty invited Andrew and I to go to the Bees game tonight (they won by the way) and there was someone missing... Eric. These pictures are from the game we went to the week before he left to the empty sea.The middle picture is Eric practicing his guitar solo to "sweet child of mine". It was pretty funny. But yeah. Just missing L and E. Nothing new....

On a totally different note, I was looking through a stack of CDs and came across my old Bad Religion CD. I am suddenly back in High School right now as I listen to it. Yeah I know, not the most uplifting music, but I like it.

Unicycles and Rodeo Clowns

The 4th of July is by far one of the best days of the year. I am a huge fan. I had a lot of fun this year, but I really missed blowing things up with L and E....

My sister Starr has created two fun fashion blogs.
The addresses are:

http://www.thefsut2lovingit.blogspot.com/
http://www.thefsut3wantingit.blogspot.com/

She is just starting them, but as you watch what evolves you will all understand why March 24th, 2006 was actually a very sad day... I lost most of my wardrobe and was left to my own devices. No offence Andrew but you are not as good at putting outfits together for me. Plus Starr always had this magical ability to find clothes that i swear did not exist before.
Starr you are as always amazing.

Dear Mr./Ms. Audi Designer Person:
In regards to your ability to design drink holders, well frankly you suck. As an American I enjoy having a large drink at every chance. Your drink holders (I have 2.375 in my car) are limited to holding a small water bottle or a small drink. Luckily for me Sonic has created slim bottoms on their drinks. I adore my Audi, but wish that I could have a mixture of European and American luxury in one car. Because you know there is not an American made car out there that doesn't have at least 6 ample drink holders.

For the love
SDG

Cameron (Andrew's youngest brother) graduated from High School last week! It was fun despite our blow horn getting taken away. Cameron is awesome and he will be successful in whatever he decides to do! Congrats Cam!

Andrew and I reminisced about our graduations 8 and 7 years ago! I swear I was just there with my side show Bob hair and a game boy in my pocket and so excited for the future. I have had a good past 7 years...

Correction for the Anonymous Folks...

While at the Farmers Market I will have a symbol of the government's oppression upon the Native Americans covered in honey in one hand and a pancake in the other. Now lets go gamble!!

Millcreek Canyon

On Saturday night the Gibs, the Fs, Sir. Rawlings and us went up Millcreek Canyon to have a fire and attempt to make tin foil dinners and eat or weight in s'mores and roasted marshmallows. It was a great time! The canyon was absolutely beautiful and so green. The fire was amazing and we all laughed our heads off. I love hanging out with this crew we have a great time.
If you ever need someone to be on campfire patrol, call Gibby.

The Downtown Farmers Market

opens next Saturday June 14th @ 8:00 am

Cherie, Starr and I ( and which ever boys we can convince to come)
will be there with a Navajo Taco in one hand and a pancake in the other!
We will miss having you there Lindsay!!

6.02.2008

The summertime is by far my favorite time of year. One of my favorite things when I drove the jeep was to drive up one of the many beautiful canyons near my home (Millcreek Canyon being my favorite) with the top off the jeep and listening to amazing music. I think I (and whoever I was with) was able to solve all the worlds problems during a drive. Download some of these pefect driving songs and go for a canyon drive and just pretend that gas is not as expensive as it is....

Wreckless Eric- whole wide world
Santana- everythings coming our way
Ben Harper- morning yearning
Bob Marley- easy skanking
Chris Issack- wicked games
Erykah Badu- honey
Feist- inside and out
Gnarls Barkley- going on
Grateful Dead- casey jones
Jason Mraz- i'm yours (original version.. not radio version)
Martin Sexton- where it begins
Red Hot Chili Peppers- slow cheetah

This flaming gem has been parked outside our condo on and off since we moved in. A few times I have seen this beauty out and about while I have been driving and have had a serious internal struggle weighing the pros and cons of slamming right into it. So if you are the dear that owns this eye sore two words: KIDNEY KARS.
Yes that reads "Powder Coat Express". Your car could also look pimp.
Please note the flaming eyeball on the antenna. . . .
