This is the first jam recipe I ever tried and the only one I use. Turns out great each time.
Kool-Aid Jam 3 C. water 1 pkg. strawberry kool-aid (or whatever flavor jam you're making) 1 pkg. pectin 3 C. crushed berries (blender) This would be about 2 pints fresh berries. 8 1/2 C. sugar Combine all but sugar and boil for 3 minutes. Add sugar. Bring to a boil and boil for 7 minutes. Bottle and self seal.
I've done raspberry, strawberry and blackberry jam with this recipe and it's yummy. Good luck!
Sum, I made the same goal this summer and I have now made several batches of jam. I have made apricot, blackberry and raspberry and they all taste fabulous, but I didn't use any crazy recipes. I just got the recipe off of the pectin box. I'm into sweet and simple! Just fruit, sugar and pectin.
Grandma Savage used to make apricot/pineapple---ooohh, was it a favorite. I have never made it because I can find it in some stores--but my family loves it. (disclaimer--when apricots are on here, it is 110 outside. I like it that somebody else has taken the heat. Thank you, Smuckers!)
